GENTLY USED BOOK SALE… SUCCESS!
The 11th Annual C-FB Council of PTA Gently Used Book Sale is over, and the results are in!
Despite the smaller location, we collected over 91,000 books, CDs, DVDs, and tapes. We met our budgetary goal with sales of $39,000. We are proud to be writing checks totaling $6500, which will be dispersed to Local PTAs who participated with book donations to the sale. Congratulations, and thanks for all your help. We could not hold the sale without support from our local PTAs.
Volunteers generously gave over 2500 hours of their time at the book sale site this year! We had a great turnout of high school students who really stepped up and contributed to the success of our sale. Special recognition goes to the ‘Moving On Up’ students, and their teacher, Mary Kneedler. Their help and dedication during the weeks of sorting was invaluable. Kudos! We also want to thank our administration, principals and school board trustees who showed their support as our official book sale door greeters.
We appreciate the help of each and every one of you, C-FB ISD students, families, employees, PTA volunteers, community volunteers, and School Board Trustees. This is truly a shining example of community involvement!
The 11th Annual Gently Used Book Sale Committee
The Gently Used Book Sale is the main fundraiser of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Council PTA. The book sale increases community awareness of the organization, promotes literacy in our community, and provides an additional source of revenue for PTA programs, scholarships and endowments.
